Two World Cup ski jumps and two Nordic combined events scheduled for February in the Czech Republic have been canceled due to financial reasons.

The International Ski Federation (FIS) said the events, scheduled in the northern city of Liberec on Feb. 7-8, were canceled for organizational reasons.

But Czech ski federation Lukas Sobotka told local CTK news agency on Thursday that a lack of finances was the key reason for the cancellations.
