A woman died and six more persons were seriously injured in a 20-car pile up on the national highway which connects Athens with the central Greece city of Lamia, the local Fire Brigade said on Friday.

Two lorries and a bus with high school students were among the vehicles which collided onto each other about 60 kilometers north of Athens due to bad weather conditions, according to early information.

Fire Brigade and police officers rushed to the site to free people who were trapped in their cars and the injured were transferred to a local hospital.
