All Black prop Ben Franks is joining London Irish from the Wellington-based Hurricanes, the English Premiership side announced Tuesday.

The 30-year-old Franks has won 42 caps and was part of New Zealand's 2011 World Cup-winning squad. He has also made more than 100 Super Rugby appearances.

He will take up a three-year contract with the Irish from the start of next season.

"There is still work to be done in New Zealand, but my family and I are looking forward to joining the club next season," Franks said.

Franks' signing comes after Tom Coventry was confirmed as Irish's head coach next season.
