The US-China Investment and Entrepreneurship Forum was held at the University of Southern California (USC) on February 7, featuring in-depth discussion about strengthening bilateral ties and fostering entrepreneurship among Chinese immigrants and overseas students.
The forum brought together many senior Chinese and American politicians, business elites and community leaders, including Gary Locke, former US Ambassador to China, Antonio Villaraigosa, former mayor of Los Angeles, and Michael Gorden, CEO of USAChina Investments Group.
Statistics show that Chinese students accounted for 31 percent of all international students in the US during 2013-2014. The number of students totaled to 274,439, rising by 16 percent over previous year.
At the forum, Gorden introduced a program aiming to provide investment opportunities and hands-on experience, and train young Chinese graduates to be future business leaders.
