The State Council, China's cabinet, on Thursday announced the appointment of several officials.
Huai Jinpeng was appointed vice minister of the
Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, replacing Yang Xueshan. Huai will no longer hold the position as president of Beihang University.
Zhang Delin was appointed vice minister of the
Ministry of Land and Resources, replacing Zhang Shaonong.
Fan Yifei and Guo Qingping were appointed vice governors of the People's Bank of China, replacing Hu Xiaolian and Li Dongrong.
Wang Enge was appointed vice president of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. He will no longer act as president of Peking University. Lin Jianhua was appointed the new president of the university, and he was removed from his previous post as president of Zhejiang University.
Zhao Zhengping and Huang Wei were appointed assistants to the chairman of the China Securities Regulatory Commission, and Wang Hong was appointed director of the State Oceanic Administration and political commissar of China Coast Guard.
Niu Dun was appointed China's permanent representative at the United Nations' Food and Agriculture Organization, replacing Xia Jingyuan. Niu was relieved of his position as vice minister of agriculture.
Zhu Zhixin, Xie Zhenhua and Xu Xianping will no longer hold positions as deputy heads of the
National Development and Reform Commission, and Chen Jining, the newly appointed environmental protection minister, will no longer serve as president of Tsinghua University.
