Political leaders of Britain and the Royal Family on Friday attended the commemorative event of the end of British military's participation in the 13-year long Afghanistan war.
The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, the Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry, attended the commemorative service at St Paul's Cathedral on Friday, according to reports from local media.
Prime Minister David Cameron gave a reading at the ceremony, and many veterans also attended the event.
British troops ended their operations in Afghanistan in October, 2014. About 140,000 British servicemen and women were sent to Afghanistan over the past 13 years, more than 400 of them lost their lives there.
