Themed "Asia's New Future: Toward a Community of Common Destiny", the 2015 Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) will be held on March 26-29 in Hainan Province.
This year's event will be held on an unprecedented scale: A total of 16 state leaders will attend the forum, including Indonesia's President Joko Widodo, Nepal's President Hon Ram Baran Yadav, Australia's Governor-General Sir Peter Cosgrove, the Netherlands' Prime Minister Mark Rutte, Zambia's President Edgar Chagwa Lungu and Russian's First Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov.
More than 80 ministerial officials from Asian countries and a number of entrepreneurs will participate the forum, adding more international luster to the event.
For the third time, China's President
Xi Jinping will attend the forum, indicating China's strong determination to strengthen bi- and multi-lateral communications with countries in Asia and around the world.
The establishment of Asia Infrastructure Investment Bank (
AIIB) is one of the hottest topics on the 2015 BFA agenda. Recently, Britain, German, France, Italy and Switzerland, among others, expressed their intentions to join the new financial body as founding members.
As the deadline of March 31 approaches, issues concerning AIIB's rules, operation and future influence in the world will be a focal point of media and industrial insiders during the forum.
As development cannot be separated from peace and stability, all countries in the region are concerned about promoting development through cooperation. China's "One Belt and One Road" proposal has earned widespread affirmation and support around the world. The forum will seek more specific regulations, plans and project lists to help promote the implementation of the "One Belt and One Road" policy.
The 2015 BFA will also discuss Asia and global economic forecasts, trends in monetary policy and the overall global economy. Issues about Internet technology, innovation and Internet startups will also be a new highlight.
Noted industry figures from Asia and around the world will brainstorm and give advice on maintaining sustainable development.
This year's forum will receive even more attention by focusing on topics concerning the greater population, such as food safety, health care, air pollution, agriculture and rural areas, inheritance, anti-corruption and the balance of politics and commerce.
