Ever Since We Love, starring Fan Bingbing and Han Geng, made its debut during the Beijing College Student Film Festival on Tuesday. The movie will hit the cinemas on April 17.
Adapted from the novel of the same name written by Chinese author Feng Tang (born Zhang Haipeng), the film focuses on the campus life of a medical student Qiushui (Han Geng) who falls in love with a mature and sexy businesswoman (Fan Bingbing) while struggling in a relationship with his schoolmate Bai Lu (Qi Xi).
A graduate from Peking Union Medical College, many feel that Feng merged his own experiences into his book. At a press conference for the film held after the debut, Feng pointed out that the novel focused on three main topics disillusionment, the human body and poetry. He admitted that the novel posed a difficult task to be adapted into movie or TV series, but he trusted director Li Yu and hoped that the movie would introduce more readers to his works.
Mostly known as an idol singer, Han plays a "bad boy" in the movie. When asked about whether he was worried about letting Han play the main role, producer Fang Li replied, "I worried about it once, thinking that Han Geng is a [music] star. But after I saw the movie, I now believe that Han is a movie star."
The film will be the fourth time Li and Fan have cooperated together after
Lost in Beijing (2007),
Buddha Mountain (2010) and
Double Xposure (2012).
