Australian rugby league team Canberra Raiders said ­Wednesday they have signed England international Elliott Whitehead on a two-year deal from the start of the 2016 season.

The club said the 25-year-old, playing his second season with the Catalan Dragons in the English Super League, would be a strong addition to their forward pack.

Whitehead, who has played more than 150 first-grade matches, made his debut for Bradford in 2009. He was part of the 2014 England Four ­Nations squad, where he played in the narrow 16-14 loss to New Zealand.
