Nepal's military saves people alive 82 hours after quake

Nepal's army and police have rescued people trapped in the rubble of buildings from various locations in the quake-stricken Kathmandu Valley 82 hours after Saturday' tremor.
Local English Newspaper Republica reported Wednesday that a Nepalese John KC was among a number of victims rescued by a special unit of the Nepal Army.
John was trapped after the building of Lamjung Resunga Hotel in Gonggabu was collapsed after the 7.9-magnitude tremor shook the valley Saturday noon.
The rescue efforts were joined by Nepal's army personnel and multi-national rescue teams.
Gongabu is a village in Kathmandu District in the Bagmati Zone of central Nepal.
Nepal's 2011 census logged the village's population at 54,410 and the number of households at 14,456 in an area just 270 hectares.
The army rescue team was quoted by the newspaper as saying that it would speed up the rescue operations in the village.
