Singaporeans have been injured in the bomb blast near the famous Erawan Shrine in Bangkok, said the
Ministry of Foreign Affairs late Monday.
"Singapore strongly condemns the bomb blast in Bangkok and is saddened by the loss of innocent lives. We convey our condolences to the families of the victims and hope the injured will have a speedy recovery," MFA said.
"We have learnt that some Singaporeans were injured," MFA said, adding that the Singapore embassy staff are rendering the necessary consular assistance to the affected Singaporeans.
MFA urges Singaporeans in Bangkok to take the necessary safety precautions, including to avoid the vicinity of the explosion and to monitor the local news closely.
At least 16 people have been killed, including two Chinese and more than 80 were injured in the incident, according to police.
