The exhibition in commemoration of the 70th anniversary of victory of the Chinese people's resistance against Japanese aggression and world anti-Fascist war is officially opened on Tuesday.
The exhibition, divided into two parts, featured a collection of 210 historical photos, 80 pieces of cultural relics recalling panorama of the efforts Chinese army and people has made in the war of resistance against Japanese aggression in the first part of the show.
Due to the special geographical position and the Portuguese's neutral policy during the war, Macao is immune to invading by Japanese, but they did not act as passive observers. The second part of exhibition shows how people in Macao donated to the resistance against Japanese aggression.
Chief Executive Chui Sai On of Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) expressed the hope in the opening ceremony that the precious pictures displayed this time could remind Macao compatriots, especially the young people of the history and martyrs, and make them cherish peace more.
The exhibition reflects the tough days Macao people went through in supporting of the country in wartime, he said.
Li Gang, Director of Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in Macao SAR in his address encouraged Macao residents to inherit and carry forward the great national spirit.
The exhibition will last till Oct. 4.
