Lillehammer Youth Olympics Games' medalist Han Mei got the bronze medal of the women's 1000 meters and the silver medal of the women's all-round at the ISU World junior speed skating championships 2016 on Saturday.
At the men's team sprint, Chinese pocketed one silver medal luckily. Arch-rivals Japanese and South Korean skaters all made a mistake of falling out of the track during the competition. The host only lost to the Russians by 1.75 seconds.
Han Mei, who finished fourth in the women's 500m and 1,500m on Friday, took the third place in the women's 1,000m. "My coach asked me to keep the strength for the last 400 meters, and I am very satisfied with my performance today," said Han.
With the sound adjustment, Han became the runner-up of the women's all-round. Russian skater Elizaveta Kazelina who was the winner of the women's 1,000m, 1,500m and 3,000m, was crowned.
Canadian player Benjamin Donnelly topped the men's 1,000 meters, 5,000 meters and all-round, but Chinese skaters grabbed an astonishing silver medal at the last game on Saturday.
"The big victory will encourage me during my career," said Gao Tingyu, who had been crowned at the junior men's 500 meters in 2016 Chinese National Winter Games, and fell out of the track in the event on Friday.
"Our team is established for a short time, but we have a good teamwork. Our goal is to get gold medals in 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing," Gao added.
