Doctors in East China's Zhejiang Province saved a baby with breathing difficulties with Viagra.
The baby girl, born on April 17 and known by the pseudonym Ding Dang, was declared healthy during a checkup at Yongkang First People's Hospital in Hangzhou, Zhejiang, one month after she was saved by doctors who administered Viagra to dilate the blood vessels supplying the baby's lungs, local media Hangzhou Daily reported on Wednesday.
The doctors began to give Ding Dang one-tenth of a Viagra pill every six hours after other treatments such as breathing machines failed.
Several minutes after the first dose, Ding Dang's breathing became normal.
The doctors gave five more doses of Viagra, and 17 days later, Ding Dang was healthy enough to leave the hospital with his parents.
