49-year-old Kuwait veteran Fehaid Aldeehani, playing as an Independent Olympic athlete, won gold at men's double trap event in Rio Olympic Shooting Center on Wednesday.
Aldeehani beat Italian talent Marco Innocenti 26-24 to get the gold. Marco took the silver and Britain's Steven Scott won the bronze.
Aldeehani, who claimed bronze in this event for Kuwait at the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games, joined Russell Mark from Australia on a record two Olympic medals in men's double trap.
Due to an IOC ban on Kuwait Olympic Committee starting from last October, the Kuwait athletes can only take part in Rio Olympics as independent Olympic athletes.
It was the first gold medal for IOA. Previously, independent Olympic athletes had claimed two bronzes and one silver, all in shooting and all in 1992.
