In the 1980s, reform and opening up bought tremendous economic benefits to people; it also produced a great change in hairstyles. People began to pursue new looks, and more fashionable hairstyles came into vogue. Dyeing hair and perming from the west gradually became popular. A variety of trendy haircuts was popular and the Chinese hairdressing business entered a new era.
