BYD ranks first in "The Global 100 IT Enterprises in 2010" list, followed by Apple, Tencent and Amazon rated by famous US financial magazine Business Week.

It is the first time for a Chinese enterprise to win the title in 12 years, which demonstrates China's leading technology.

Analysts say that prioritizing techniques and innovation is the propulsion behind BYD achievements in IT parts and auto manufacturing, especially in the research and development of new-energy vehicles.

BYD has also expanded its self-research as well as production of all core auto parts, leaving out tires and windows.

A list from the Business Week website showed that IT enterprises from emerging markets like China and India are also securing their places in the list. Eight companies from the Chinese mainland and eight Taiwanese companies are among the world's 100, which also includes Baidu, Zhongxing and Shanda.

The 100 giants were selected from over 6,500 listed IT shares in Bloomberg data base, with market value of over $1 billion, annual revenue of more than $500 million, revenue loss below 5 percent and share price slashing less than 50 percent in 2009.
