BYD's Wang Chuanfu tops Forbes China Rich List

The Forbes top 400 China Rich List was released Thursday in Shanghai, and Wang Chuanfu, the founder of Chinese battery and electric car maker BYD tops the list with a wealth worth $5.8 billion.
Last year Wang ranked 23rd at $1.06 billion; Warren Buffett's investment in BYD in September was a big contributor to Wang's rapid growth in wealth.
Liu Yongxing of East Hope Group and Zong Qinghou from beverage company Wahaha followed Wang with assets worth $5.5 billion and $4.8 billion respectively. Liu topped the Forbes list last year at $3 billion.
Eight of the top 40 people was on the list for the first time.
