I Have a Date with Spring is a musical drama adapted from the 22-year-old play of the same name, created by the famous Hong Kong writer, To Kwok Wai.

After touring the nation, it will return to Shanghai for its last show of the year.

The story focuses on a former diva named Yao Xiaodie and her three friends who were also singers.

After a peaceful life of solitude in Canada, Yao goes back to her hometown in Hong Kong for one last show at the Flower Palace Nightclub. She recalls her golden days as a singer and the love of her life.

Some 16 popular songs from Hong Kong and Taiwan in the 1980s will highlight the musical drama.

From Teresa Deng's "Evening Primrose," to Liu Wenzheng's "Diamond," the performance is full of nostalgic airs which transport the audience back in time.

Wen Yang, once a singer with the Huagu Opera in Hunan Province and the lead actress playing the role of Yao Xiaodie, will perform the theme song, "I Have a Date with Spring."

I Have a Date with Spring has previously been adapted as an award-winning book, an award-winning television series and a film.
