The solo dance God Studies created by Flak premiered in April 2008. The piece, based on Norwegian mythology, depicts a world of Viking gods, dying and surviving in style.

In this piece, Flak intends to force people to think about the similarities between the characters in the dance and people in the contemporary world.

A Dancer's Life includes performances as well as a series of dance workshops organized by Korzo.

Dubbe, Middendorp and Flak will give three lectures tomorrow right before the performance, speaking about their works and specialties.

"We have contacted some small dance companies in Shanghai, and we are looking forward to meeting them at the workshops for young dancers and choreographers," said Spreksel, the dance programmer for Korzo.

As one of the biggest dance producers in the Netherlands, Korzo Productions supports young choreographers and dancers and stages 12 to 18 dance productions from young talent every year.

"We have brought our productions to China before," said Spreksel. "We have had very attentive and passionate audiences in Shanghai."

The pieces to be presented in Shanghai this time are the 2009 edition of a program Here We Live and Now started in 2006, in which choreography talents are encouraged to create and present their works.

"We offer very interesting programs, and we look forward to meeting dancers and artists from Shanghai," said Spreksel. "We met them in the past, and we plan to find them in the future."
