Xu Qixiu Herbal Tea
Six stainless steel kettles and two refrigerators occupy most of the space in this tiny Xing'an Road store. It opened at the end of 2006, and is the company's only franchise store in Shanghai (but the 695th in China). Xu Qixiu's teas are prepared at the company's headquarters in Guangdong and then the semi-finished products are transported here and boiled onsite. Packaged teabags and herbal tea candies are also available. According to staff the ginseng-chrysanthemum-pear tea is popular among expats because it tastes like American ginseng tea.

The Runxintang Herbal Tea
The name run xin literally means moistening the heart. Also established by a herbalist doctor from Guangdong, the brand is famous for its Runxin tea, a recipe that is now included on the Chinese Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection list.
As part of a special launch promotion, the store is offering three teas for the price of two. There are three flavors of black Chinese herbal jelly to choose from. The jelly is a traditional dessert made from tortoise-shell and another medicine called fu ling. You can try all three for just 16 yuan.
