"Even with so many different composers all given compositional space, the overall empathy they exhibit in writing for the talents in the band is of a singular mind. Unless one checked the sleeve notes the listener would not be able to identify which composers penned which tune," wrote Thomas Erdmann, a music critic and a professor of music education, when he reviewed the group's first CD release.

Last year Chinese trumpeter Li and two other members of the group, Girley and Verastegui, toured China. "We met great musicians and great people that enjoy our music," said Verastegui.

The Shanghai concert is one stop on their 2010 world tour which takes in China, the US, South Korea and Japan. "I promise we'll play our hearts out," Verastegui added.
