Haim Dotan, the noted Israeli architect who designed the "seashell" Israel Pavilion at the Expo, will launch his book on architecture, while the Spain Pavilion will see the launch of a book on the ancient Chinese literature that has been collected by Spanish libraries.
Assorted Expo-licensed products, including publications and commemorative stamps, will be available to visitors.
Tourists in the city who are carrying an August Expo ticket with an ID card, or Shanghai-issued tour cards, can enjoy free entry on the three nights from August 13 to 15, and a 20 percent discount on books.
New features
For the first time the fair will set up an area for quality children's books, in an effort to improve the reading habits of youngsters, as well as a new section where visitors can find an extensive collection of dictionaries and reference books to cater specifically for the city's academics and professionals.
The fair will also devote considerable attention to the developments in digital publishing over the past couple of years, with leading exhibitors showcasing the latest in this field. A wide variety of e-books and e-readers will be on display.
