"Shrek was so great! I loved the first one, liked the second, never heard of the third one, but this last one was fantastic. I never thought I could enjoy the fourth in a series of any movie, let alone an animated film. However, they somehow maintained the spark of the original by keeping it fresh and new.?I am always delighted with their inclusion of new storybook characters each time. Of course, they also appealed to the older members of the audience by playing on the stress of family life that Fiona and Shrek now share and satirically projecting the 'fairytale' ending as no more than just a caricature of the normal family unit. Fun for people of all ages."

"This movie was a little bit too girly for me. I mean, it was cool when all the ogres were battling, but there was also a lot of love in there. My girlfriend thought it was really sweet and kept grabbing my arm and looking at me all cute. I just remember back to the first Shrek when it was all about mud and farting and cool stuff. The 3-D effects were sweet though."

"I do wonder whether small children are going to be all that interested in a movie about a grumpy Scotsman undergoing a midlife crisis. For me it was a waste of time; just another run-of-the-mill action adventure with familiar and well-loved characters that couldn't quite keep the interest level up. Admittedly there were some very funny moments, with Puss in Boots probably delivering the wittiest visual gags."--
