Cyclists pedal to Expo

A group of some 20 cyclists from Wuhan, the capital of central Hubei Province, who aim to cover a distance of 1,200 kilometers to get to the World Expo 2010 in Shanghai, are expected to arrive in the city this Saturday.

They left their hometown a week ago, and plan to cross 18 provinces in time to make it for the opening of Hubei Week at the Expo Park.

The journey is meant to promote an eco-friendly lifestyle, a theme of the event, and the riders are collecting environmentally conscious proposals from residents along the way.
