The use of handheld card readers at subway stations will be extended to more stations, after a pilot project testing the products has been deemed successful by subway authorities.

The trial service started at four subway stations in April, and allows passengers to use a dedicated lane by swiping their transport cards through handheld card readers when lineups at turnstiles get too long during rush hour.
