Global Times: Do you think Obama will stop selling weapons to Taiwan?

Tao: Obama won’t make promises on selling arms to Taiwan, because of the Taiwan Relations Act. However, there are no concrete rules on when to sell arms to Taiwan or what weapons will be sold to Taiwan. Therefore, we should solemnly ask the US to respect China’s position, attend to China’s core interests and concerns and avoid making obstacles to Sino-US relations due to arms sales to Taiwan.
