Global Times: What does the US’s putting more importance on China stand for? What influence it will bring to the relations between China and other countries?

Sun: The more importance the US puts on China makes some Asian countries uncomfortable or not used to such an attitude. Each country has shown different responses. Japan’s Hatoyama government pays more attention to Asia; Australia proposes the idea of Asia-Pacific Community including the US; and Singapore calls for the US to pay more attention to East Asia and balance China. The change of the Sino-US relationship leads to policy adjustments of other Asian countries.
