Global Times: From the Asia perspective, what does the US’s putting more importance on China stand for? What influence it will bring to Asia? Will India/ Russia/ Japan/ South Korea/ Europe/ Australia adjust its foreign policy according to the development of the current Sino-US relationship? If so, what is the adjustment?

Qin: The US attaches more importance to Asia. The first reason is the rapid development of China; the second is that Asia is the most active developing region nowadays in the world; the third is that to America’s economy and strategy, East Asia is an important region. Also, all parties in the region hope that Sino-US ties will be strengthened.
