Global Times: Many people are talking about a G2 between China and the US. What do you think of that? Would this be a good thing for the respective countries and the world?

Asgarkhani: It is still premature to speak about a G2 between China and the US. China is still showing a very shy foreign policy. China concentrates on plenty, not power; on economics, not politics. I know China is able, but it is not politically willing, to be present on the international relations’ level. So I would argue that as long as China has reservation on political ambitions, talking about a G2 between China and the US is premature. Maybe in the future, not now. China is not aggressive.
