Global Times: The overall gap between China and the US is getting smaller…will the two countries have more conflicts than cooperation?

Kuhn: The US is in the process of understanding the weight of China in world politics. China is likely to understand that it has to assume an even more cooperative role in world politics, including in natural resource rich regions which experience severe political and humanitarian crisis like Africa. China will be well advised to further step up its efforts in policy dialogue and development cooperation in Africa and the other crisis prone regions.
