From October 22 to 25, 2002, Chinese President Jiang Zemin paid a working visit to the US. Both sides agreed that China and the US share extensive and important common interests and should expand exchanges and cooperation in various fields, strengthening significant international and regional issues, dialogue and coordination and promoting constructive and cooperative relations. The two sides also agreed to strengthen high-level strategic dialogues and contacts.
