On August 1, 2005, Chinese Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Dai Bingguo held the 1st China-US strategic dialogue with US Deputy Secretary of State Robert Zoellick in Beijing. As a regular dialogue mechanism, the China-US strategic dialogue would be held alternately at regular intervals.
