There are more than 150 orphans in the Yushu Orphanage School, and luckily no one was hurt or injured in the earthquake that hit Yushu on the morning of April 14, 2010.
The students were having breakfast in the canteen when the quake struck. The dorm building collapsed, but luckily all of the students were evacuated.
Premier Wen Jiabao visited the ruins of the school on April 16. He encouraged the students to have a positive outlook on life by saying, “The sun rises up in the sky everyday no matter how many difficulties there are. You are the tomorrow of the nation, and your lives are just like the sun.”
The students told the Global Times that they all cried during Wen’s visit.
