An overview of shabby partitioned flats in Hung Hom, an area of Kowloon in Hong Kong. The decades-old flats, epitomizing deep-rooted housing issues haunting locals, are set to be pulled down. Redevelopment of the flats into high-rise buildings have hit multiple obstacles, as local opposition parties have spared no effort to block the HKSAR government's rebuilding drive. Tenants of the sub-divided flats also complain that the redevelopment plan will make housing costs unaffordable for them.
