An Australian lungfish known as the oldest captive fish on record was put down at the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago, Illinois, US on February 6. The Australian lungfish, known as “Granddad,” was acquired by the aquarium in 1933 and was estimated to be in his mid-90s. The fish was euthanized due to its failing health, officials at the aquarium said. Native to Australia, Lungfish get their name from their single lung that allows them to breathe air. Photos: CFP
