Shakespeare's classical play Macbeth will be performed as musical by the Romeo & Julia Kören ensemble at the Tianqiao Performing Arts Center in Beijing on June 13-14.

French composer Clément Janequin's work La Guerre(War) and excellent works by Josquin des Prez during the renaissance inspired the creation of the Macbeth musical, which will be directed Benoît Malmberg. The Music by Clément Janequin and Josquin des Prez's twists throughout the original work, written by Shakespeare in 1606, to tell a classic tale of political ambition.

Romeo & Julia Kören is a music dramatic vocal ensemble that almost exclusively performs European renaissance music. The choir was formed in 1991 by Malmberg at the Royal Dramatic Theatre in Stockholm, Sweden, during a set of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet directed by Peter Langdal.

The choir has performed in more than 30 countries and regions, including at the award ceremony for the Nobel Prize on five occasions and the wedding of Sweden's Crown Princess Victoria and Olof Daniel Westling.

The 70-minute musical will begin at 7:30 pm and will not feature an intermission. Tickets can be purchased for 680 yuan ($ 98.55), 480 yuan, 380 yuan and 180 yuan.
