An AN-2 biplane crashed in northern Kazakhstan on Thursday when spraying chemical fertilizers, leaving one dead and two others injured, the Kazinform news agency reported.
"At approximately 10:00 a.m. local time (0400 GMT) on June 20, an AH-2 airplane crashed at a place 10 kilometers away from the village of Rodina, Akmola region while spraying chemical fertilizers," a press release from the Emergency Committee of Kazakhstan's Internal Affairs Ministry said.
As a result of the crash, the pilot of the airplane was killed, and two other crew members were hospitalized with injuries and burns.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
