Founded by German naval surgeon Erich Paulun, the Tongji Hospital was moved from Shanghai to Wuhan in 1955.
Many medical professionals from the hospital have made great contributions to the field of medicine.
On August 15, one of the world's largest science publishing houses Springer published Acute Exacerbation of Chronic Hepatitis B: Volume 1 and Volum 2, written by the hospital's doctor Ning Qin.
According to the introduction on the Springer website, "The book assembles recent achievements in both basic research and clinical management in the field of hepatology, virology, and immunology. It provides up-to-date information for clinicians who can apply the relevant knowledge to their daily clinical practice and for researchers who are interested in clinically orientated studies."
