Late nights spent cheering the Washington Nationals' roller coaster ride to the brink of the World Series have created a headache for one baseball-loving legal eagle.
So rather than risk incurring the wrath of a judge by turning up bleary-eyed to court, a Washington DC attorney requested a new hearing date. In a light-hearted but candid motion, the attorney requested a court extension in order to continue following the Nationals, who can advance to the World Series later on Tuesday with a victory over St.Louis.
"Due in part to the unflagging support of a certain nine-year-old boy closely associated with undersigned counsel, the team has rightfully advanced deep in the baseball playoffs," the attorney wrote.
