Chinese boy band WayV's first English single
LoveTalk topped the trending lists on social media platform in the US, Thailand and many other countries on Tuesday.
The digital single came just one week after the release of their second album
Take Over the Moon on October 29. It has sold 120, 375 units on China's QQ Music as of Wednesday.
Since the band is under Neo Culture Technology (NCT), a Chinese sub-unit of South Korea's SM Entertainment, many Chinese netizens have high expectations for WayV, with some fans even referring to them as "China's BTS."
"When singing in English, their voices are so beautiful. I always think that the boy band is so popular around the world is in part because the members can speak many languages including English, Korean, German and Thai, which we fans are so proud of," one Chinese netizen commented on China's Twitter-like Sina Weibo.
