President of the Asia Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) Jin Liqun said on Thursday that he has always anticipated China and the US could cooperate and make joint investments, refuting opinions that the relationship between the two countries is broken or drastically strained.
"There is wide space for China and the US to cooperate for the benefit of the people in the two countries, as well as the future economic growth of both," Jin said at the New Economy Forum in Beijing on Thursday.
AIIB has cooperated with US companies and financial institutions, and there are also many Americans who hold high positions in the bank, Jin said.
"Meanwhile, we also encourage US manufacturers and suppliers to participate in international bidding, and to cooperate with AIIB," he said.
