During Cuban Minister of Tourism Manuel Marrero's visit to China, the Cuban Embassy in China hosted a promotional event on November 8, introducing Cuba as a tourist destination with good potential to the Chinese media and travel agencies.

In his opening remarks, Marrero said that next year China and Cuba will welcome its 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations and the Cuban Tourism Ministry is talking with Chinese tourist service providers and third-party payment platforms in order to meet the demands of Chinese tourists to Cuba.
He also unveiled there will be a new position of tourism counselor at the Cuban Embassy in China who will take office early next year.
"We are thinking about how to provide better services for Chinese tourists during their stay in Cuba and several measures will take place which include having hot water supply and trained Chinese language speaking tour guides at some hotels in Cuba," the minister said.
"At present, we have 25 staff members from the Cuban Tourism Ministry who are receiving tourism-related training in China."
