A model truck with a sign that reads "Driving is easy, but security is a problem" is displayed at the Foreigners' Street theme park in Chongqing to warn against drunk driving. The slogan apparently draws from a recent quote from actress Ma Yili, who publicly chastised her husband, actor Wen Zhang, for having an affair by saying, "Being in love is easy, being married is not." Drunk driving is not only dangerous, illegal behavior, it also confuses the mind as an inebriated motorcyclists in Tongbai county, Central China's Henan Province discovered when he lost his way home, called police and promptly got arrested.
The man had been on an all-day bender and couldn't find his way home, said local police officer Liu Tongsheng in a video posted by Pear Video on Friday.
The man was so far out of it, he called the Beijing public security bureau which is more than 700 kilometers from Tongbai, said Liu. "He noticed he had dialed the wrong number and then called police in yet another city," Liu noted.
The video includes the man's call to the police as he tells the operator in drunken, slurred speech that he couldn't find a family member and no one was at home.
"He finally called the public security bureau in Tongbai county and the local police picked him and took him to the police station," said Liu.
It's not certain if the man remains detained, but standard practice for heavily inebriated drivers includes 15 days in detention and up to six months in jail. Convicted drunk drivers also lose their license to drive for five years.
