A taxi driver posted a note in his cab forbidding couples from kissing, saying it makes him want one too, according to a 10-second viral video shot by a passenger and posted it on Douyin, China's version of TikTok.
In the video an amused passenger asks the cabbie why he posted the sign.
"When I see passengers kissing I want someone to kiss too," said the driver.
According to Red Star News, the young driver, who is not seen in the video, is single and said he got hot and bothered by a couple getting intimate in the back seat three months ago.
"Please don't take me as air," said the driver from Chengdu, Southwest China's Sichuan Province, noting that he's not invisible.
The driver also offered this odd analogy: "It's like when a passenger eats lamb kebabs in the backseat at six o'clock and I'm hungry too," the driver told the local media.
Since the video was released, which has been viewed more than 220 million times, his passengers are excited to meet the unlike internet star and some have even given him a tip.
Many of the online comments are critical of some couples' over exuberant public display of affection. "I wish the same notice was posted in movie theaters too," wrote a netizen.
"It's indecent to be overly intimate in public, but I do understand some couples' behavior if they're on their honeymoon," said another.
