Featuring seven special theme events, the World Class Theater for Chinese Audiences forum kicked off in Beijing on Tuesday. During the four-day forum, directors and scholars from home and abroad, including China's Hong Kong director Roy Szeto and French directors Jean Varela and Eric Lacascade, will hold a series of talks on topics such as theater production, education and young talents.
Anaistamo Martane from Magnificent Culture, one of the organizers behind the event, said that as one of the most important theater producers in China, Magnificent Culture aims to bring more people into theaters to enjoy stage arts, which inspire people to think about themselves and the world.
This international forum offers a platform for us to discuss how we can improve education and experiences for audiences," she said.
In addition to the talks, the forum will also launch a special project on Thursday to help young promising talents. The project will seek out young performers and scripts for future productions that will be staged across the country. The final results will be announced on Friday.
