An exhibition of more than 60 artworks made from wood by real-estate-tycoon-turned-artist Ren Zhiqiang kicked off on Saturday at Beijing's 798 Art Center.Ren, who has never received any formal art training, created the wooden works to represent the landscapes and scenes in his dreams, and are meant to showcase how human being have changed the environment.
According to the exhibition's artistic consultant Sui Jianguo, Ren can be seen as an amateur artist who uses ordinary means to express his artistic ideas.
The exhibition is set to run until January 15, 2020.
