Police cordoned off a field near a farming village in East China, after receiving a report of a menacing-looking bomb near the roadside of a construction site that turned out to be a big bottle of booze shaped like a bullet.
A video clip posted on social media by WeVideo on Thursday, shows police tape surrounding the field and a local police officer, wearing a helmet, winter gloves and possibly a bullet-proof vest, using both hands to gently place the 30-centimeter-long, mud-covered bullet bottle in a box in Jianhu county, East China's Jiangsu Province. The video appears to have been recorded on a phone by someone standing a few meters away.
After police cleaned off the brass-colored bottle, they could clearly see the label reading "Bullet Erguotou." Erguotou is a well-known brand of baijiu, which is a clear, distinctively Chinese liquor.
"I can't stop laughing… but the villager's safety awareness deserves my applauses," said a Net user on Sina Weibo.
"This false alarm just might contribute to the celebrations for the coming Spring Festival. I wish everyone a safe and sound New Year," said another.
