Science on Tap: marine plastics
Solving the dangers of marine plastics has gotten higher on the global agenda in recent years. On our current trajectory, the world's oceans could contain more plastic than fish by 2050.
All over the world, governments, people, businesses and scientists are coming together to tackle the problem of plastic waste. The governments of China and the UK have both made commitments to reduce and mitigate plastic waste while scientists continue increasing our collective knowledge of the facts and potential solutions.
Two leading UK marine scientists from the Centre for Environment, Fisheries and Aquaculture Science (Cefas) will visit China to scope out new ways the UK and China can cooperate on this important global issue.
This event forms part of the UK government's Green is Great campaign in China.
