China's civil aviation authorities have made efforts to push forward the resumption of the construction of major infrastructure projects.

Efforts are underway to realize an annual fixed asset investment of 100 billion yuan (about 14.38 billion US dollars) in 2020, according to the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC).

As of March 3, the construction of 48 of the country's 81 airport projects had resumed.

By the end of 2019, China had 238 civil airports.

Airports are key public infrastructures that sustain the continuous and fast growth of China's civil aviation industry.

The sector has been blessed with strengthened servicing capacity and global competence. In 2019, air traffic contributed 32.8 percent of passenger turnover in China's comprehensive transport system, according to the CAAC.

In the nationwide joint efforts to fight against the COVID-19 epidemic, the country's civil aviation industry has showed its power in the fast and high-quality transport of medical personnel and supplies.

As of March 5, China's civil aviation authorities have arranged more than 22,000 flights to transport 29,100 tonnes of emergency supplies to support the anti-epidemic fight, according to the latest statistics from the CAAC.
